Short description
The Noise at Work: NEMS & Dosimetry training, conducted by Elite Offshore, is for anyone working at sea, or dock workers exposed to sea. Short-term exposure to loud noise can also cause a temporary change in hearing, such as a feeling of fullness in the ears or ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Generally, exposure to sound levels above 85 dB is considered damaging to human hearing. That is why this is the most common maximum value allowed in industrial environments. For residential environments, the accepted decibel level is lower. Any noise exceeding 70 dB is considered disturbing. Assessing the risk of Noise in work environments is mandated by law.
