Course overview

Describe the roles and responsibilities of the crane operations team. Identify key crane components, their locations, and their main functions. Review standard crane inspection criteria, including pre-start checks, inspections for telescopic and lattice booms, running checks, shutdown procedures, and record-keeping. Explain the crane’s safety devices, such as boom, hoist, and slew limiting systems, and factors that can affect crane capacity.  Identify environmental conditions that could impact lifting operations, such as weather, visibility, and temperature. Provide checklists for conducting daily and weekly crane inspections.

What will I learn?

  • 1. To explain the roles and responsibilities to crane operations team
  • 2. Main crane components; their location on a crane and their principle function(s).
