What will I learn?
- 1. Describe basic drilling concepts, well components, and different well types.
- 2. Explain the importance of drilling in the oil and gas production process and its economic impact
- 3. Identify safety basics specific to the offshore oil and gas industry, including key standards and protocols.
- 4. Review major accident types and understand the role of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) protocols, along with training like BOSIET, HUET, and FOET.
- 5. Recognize fire safety principles, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and manage risks associated with H₂S and hydrocarbons.
- 6. Explain basic petroleum geology, types of oilfield fluids, rock types, traps, and unconventional resources like shale and tight oil and gas.
- 7. Identify exploration techniques such as magnetometry, gravimetry, seismic methods, and the role of exploratory and appraisal drilling.
- 8. Describe types of offshore drilling rigs and equipment, including their components and functions.
