Further OERTM training emphasizes efficiency in communication within teams and with external agencies involved in the setting, such as emergency services. It includes awareness of the hazards of working at heights and procedures for safe access and recovery of personnel.

This would include understanding how to use portable and foam fire-fighting equipment. The ability to practice incident response in confined space/height scenarios along with the use of PPE for fire fighting, including breathing apparatus.
